Job summary

State of West Virginia is seeking a Human Resources Generalist 2 at the District 8 Headquarters in Randolph County (Elkins, WV). Primary focus on benefits administration with opportunities to contribute to onboarding, recruitment, training, and workforce analytics.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; two years in paraprofessional HR or related fields; travel may be required; promotional pathways exist within state government.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Substitution: Experience in human resources, payroll, bookkeeping, or accounting may be substituted for the required training/education.
• Two (2) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid paraprofessional human resources, payroll, bookkeeping, or accounting experience.
• Substitution: Successful completion of graduate coursework from a regionally accredited college or university may be substituted for the required experience.

• Cross-train across HR areas including on-boarding, recruitment, training, and workforce analytics.
