Job summary

State of West Virginia seeks a Transportation Human Resources Associate to assist in a training capacity within the Department of Transportation. You will analyze and apply statewide HR policies under supervision, contributing to employee relations and division-level processes.

The role requires a High school diploma or equivalent and about two years of HR/payroll-related experience. Travel may be required; a valid driver’s license is needed.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in human resources, payroll, bookkeeping, or accounting.
• Substitution: Successful completion of coursework from a regionally accredited college or university may be substituted for the required experience through an established formula.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Employee Relations Section of the Human Resources Division and assist in training capacity.
• Perform highly specialized work at division level within the Department of Transportation.
• Analyze, interpret, and apply policies, procedures, laws, rules, and regulations specific to statewide human resources functions.
