GEM is seeking an HR & Finance Associate to support its Human Resources and Finance departments. The role is highly organized, detail-oriented, and technology-forward, reporting to the Managing Director of Finance and supporting the Associate Director of HR.

The position spans HR operations, finance, project management, and administrative support, offering exposure to a broad range of GEM's operations and strategic initiatives. Strong discretion and communication are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; equivalent experience may be considered.
• 4+ years of relevant professional experience in HR, finance, operations, or related field.
• Exceptionally organized with strong attention to detail and record-keeping.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and shifting deadlines independently.
• Strong project management instincts; able to scope, track, and drive initiatives to completion.
• Ability to handle highly confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with HRIS, payroll systems, and business technology.
• Strong quantitative skills and data fluency; comfortable with Excel and financial data.
• Familiarity with AI tools and emerging technology.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day HR operations, including payroll preparation and benefits coordination.
• Maintain employee records in HRIS and other systems.
• Assist with HR data, compensation analysis and information requests.
• Handle confidential HR and payroll matters with discretion.
• Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and offboarding processes.
• Coordinate interviews, performance reviews, and HR initiatives.
• Serve as a project manager for cross-department initiatives across Finance, Fund Accounting, Tax, Office Administration, and HR.
• Own projects and drive initiatives to completion; surface and manage work in flight across teams.
• Provide administrative support by tracking initiatives and supporting recurring processes and special projects.
