Job summary

The City of Sarasota seeks a Coordinator, Human Resources to perform a range of professional HR functions in the Human Resources Department. You will participate in orientation, training development, vendor management, and policy advisory work.

You will conduct surveys, prepare reports, and support recruiting as needed. Strong communication, data skills, and confidentiality are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field required.
• SHRM credential preferred (PHR/SPHR/CP/ SCP).
• Experience in employee relations, training, and policy guidance is expected.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate orientation sessions for new hires and explain policies, culture, and values.
• Develop and facilitate training programs for city departments.
• Manage vendors and training budgets and assist with recruiting when needed.
• Advise staff on personnel policies, procedures, and programs.
• Prepare surveys, analyze results, and report findings to leadership.
• Monitor HR data, run reports, and support accuracy in records.
