Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Central Territory is seeking an organized HR Coordinator in Des Moines, IA. You’ll support employees, help managers succeed, and ensure HR processes run smoothly across onboarding, leave administration, benefits, compliance, training, and HR operations.

In this role, you’ll gain experience across many HR areas and contribute to a positive workplace culture while working a full-time daytime schedule.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in HR or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• One to two years of experience in HR, administrative support, payroll, recruiting, office management, or a related role.
• Experience using Microsoft Office, including Excel.
• Experience with ADP or another HRIS/timekeeping system is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted HR partner for employees and managers while maintaining efficient HR processes.
• Help employees navigate HR programs, policies, and benefits.
• Process employee changes, benefits enrollments, and HR transactions in ADP.
• Support payroll and timekeeping processes.
• Assist with onboarding and orientation for new employees.
• Ensure HR records are complete, accurate, and compliant.
