The Salvation Army is seeking an organized HR Coordinator to support employees, assist managers, and keep HR operations running smoothly in Des Moines. You will handle records, onboarding, leave administration, benefits, and compliance with a collaborative team.

Ideal candidates are people-focused, detail-oriented, and eager to grow a career in human resources across multiple HR areas in a faith-based nonprofit setting.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in HR, Business, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience supporting employees, managers, and HR processes is preferred.
• Familiarity with ADP or HRIS systems is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Serve as HR partner for employees and managers while supporting compliant HR processes.
• Maintain confidential employee records and HR documentation.
• Process changes, benefits enrollments, and HR transactions in ADP.
• Support payroll and timekeeping processes and onboarding for new employees.
• Coordinate employee leave processes and benefit questions.
• Assist with investigations and workplace communications as needed.
• Support training, safety, and compliance initiatives.
