Job summary

Prince William County Public Schools seeks a Compliance Specialist to support the Talent Acquisition and Employment Department's Certification and Compliance team. You will coordinate pre-employment compliance activities, guide administrators and applicants on requirements, and assist with audits and reporting.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in HR management or related field and at least three years of HR experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in human resource management, business administration or a related field.
• Minimum of three years human resources experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and technical assistance regarding certification, licensure, and employment compliance requirements.
• Coordinate employment authorization, eligibility verification, fingerprinting, and other pre-employment compliance activities for newly hired personnel.
• Review employment documentation and compliance records to support adherence to local, state, and federal requirements and School Division policies.
• Support compliance staff to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
• Monitor compliance activities, identify discrepancies, and assist with resolution of compliance-related issues.
• Track, maintain, and validate compliance data for audits, state reports, and other reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to maintain certification, licensure, and compliance data and records, including data for Title I schools.
• Maintain certification and compliance information within HRIS and assist with data validation, reporting, and process improvements.
• Maintain compliance webpages and communications to ensure current information is available to employees, applicants, and stakeholders.
• Assist with compliance audits, monitoring activities, and responses to inquiries from internal and external agencies.
• Process and track billing, payments, and related documentation for compliance services provided by external agencies.
• Notarize employment documents and provide onboarding support for newly hired personnel as needed.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
