Billerud NA is seeking a motivated HR co-op to gain hands-on experience within a dynamic HR team and support a variety of activities and initiatives. The role involves data entry, file management, and assisting with HR projects while collaborating with business partners to learn various career paths within the organization.

The program aims to develop talent for potential full-time roles, with a structured 7–8 month assignment and exposure to recruitment, admin tasks, and reporting.

Qualifications

• Completion of at least one year of college coursework and currently enrolled in the next academic semester.
• Pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum 2.75 GPA
• Must be available to work one of two Co-op rotations which run either January through August or May through December.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and respond to messages, and place daily phone calls to hourly production employees to support staffing needs and fill open vacancies.
• Prepare and distribute employee job transfer documentation and correspondence.
• Post and maintain job bid notices in production areas in accordance with established processes.
• Generate vacation reports and accurately enter employee vacation schedules into the HR system.
• Maintain employee records in the HRIS, including new hires, transfers, terminations, job classification changes, merit increases, and leave of absence information.
• Support the hourly hiring process by scheduling interviews, preparing interview materials, and assisting with recruitment-related activities.
• Collect and compile non-confidential HR data for monthly metrics, reporting, and analysis.
• Provide general administrative and operational support to the Human Resources team and assist with special projects as assigned.
