Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; knowledge of general HR policies and procedures.
• Demonstrated knowledge of HR policies including FLSA, FMLA, ADA; proficient with Microsoft Office and records management.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing to all levels of management, employees and the public.

Responsibilities

• Provides HR-related functions for employees at Deerfield Correctional Center in compliance with policies.
• Collaborates with HR leadership to ensure positive culture and effective customer service in HR.
• Manages recruiting, onboarding/offboarding, leave accounting, payroll processing, benefits administration, and data entry.
• Assists HR staff with day-to-day duties and acts as HR advocate for employees, managers, and the public.
• Updates and maintains records in automated databases and performs other duties as assigned.
