Job summary

Avalara, Inc. is redefining P&C processes with an AI-first approach, leading the design of end-to-end process architectures and operating models.

You will decide how processes should automate, augment, or stay human-led, and partner with engineering to build or integrate AI solutions. You’ll own the operating model, roadmaps, and ROI metrics for redesigned HR workflows, collaborating with P&C leadership and People Technology.

Qualifications

• Architect end-to-end target-state process and operating model, not just maps.
• Turn messy real-world processes into clear, documented workflows.
• Hands-on experience building or deploying AI agents and automations in production.
• Ability to justify automated, augmented, or human-led decisions for each step.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain the AI and automation roadmap for redesigned processes.
• Define target state for each persona and translate into concrete requirements for engineers.
• Collaborate with People Technology to test, deploy, and iterate AI solutions.
• Sequence large initiatives into phased plans delivering early value.
• Ensure governance and ROI models for tools and automation.
