Job summary

Northern Star Resources operates the Pogo mine in Alaska and seeks a Human Resources Advisor focusing on Leave & Benefits. You’ll support leave programs, benefits enrollment, HRIS and compliance, reporting to the HR Manager.

You’ll interact with employees and external providers, ensure policy adherence and maintain confidential records in a remote, 5-days-on/2-days-off schedule with travel to the mine site.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; higher degree preferred.
• 1–2 years in administrative/HR support roles.
• Knowledge of HR practices, benefits and leave administration.
• Proficiency with Office apps; ADP or HRIS experience preferred.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Guide employees through onboarding, benefits enrollment, HRIS, leave administration and workers’ compensation.
• Coordinate acts as liaison between employees, benefits administrators and carriers.
• Administer leave programs including FMLA and other entitlements.
• Support workers’ compensation claim administration and reporting.
• Assist annual benefits open enrollment and communications with providers.
• Prepare reports related to leave, benefits and HR requirements.
• Maintain confidential records in compliance with laws.
