Job summary

Northern Star Resources is seeking a Human Resources Advisor for Leave & Benefits in Delta Junction, Alaska. The role focuses on administering employee leave and benefits programs, providing confidential guidance to staff and leaders, and ensuring compliance with policies and laws.

The role reports to the HR Manager and supports onboarding, enrollment, HRIS, leave administration, and workers’ compensation. Strong HRIS, ADP experience, and excellent communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 12–18 months of HR admin/HR assistant experience or similar.
• Knowledge of benefits, leave administration and HR practices.
• Proficient with office software and HRIS systems.
• Strong communication skills and confidentiality.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Guide employees through onboarding, benefits enrollment and leave administration.
• Act as liaison between employees, benefits carriers and providers.
• Coordinate FMLA and other leave entitlements.
• Support workers’ compensation processes and reporting.
• Assist with annual benefits open enrollment and communications.
• Maintain confidential HR records and prepare HR reports.
• Review and code HR-related invoices and support training sessions.
• Attend HR team meetings and maintain data accuracy.
