Safeway in Houston, TX is seeking a detail-oriented HR Administrator to support day-to-day HR operations, including employee records, onboarding, benefits administration, payroll coordination, and compliance.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of HR or administrative experience, strong communication, and ability to handle confidential information. Proficiency with HRIS, payroll, ATS, and MS Office is preferred; bachelor's degree in HR or related field is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR or related field preferred.
• 2–4 years HR or administrative experience preferred.
• Knowledge of basic HR practices and employment procedures.
• Familiarity with HRIS, payroll, and applicant-tracking systems.
• Strong Microsoft Office or Google Workspace skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and confidential employee personnel records.
• Support onboarding and offboarding processes for employees.
• Prepare employment documentation, offer letters, HR forms, and other correspondence.
• Coordinate new-hire paperwork, background checks, and employment verification.
• Assist with benefits enrollment and employee benefits questions.
• Maintain HR databases and employee information systems.
• Coordinate with payroll to ensure accurate employee information and timely processing.
• Track employee attendance, leave, and time-off records.
• Assist with recruitment activities, including scheduling interviews and communicating with candidates.
• Respond to routine employee questions regarding HR policies, benefits, and procedures.
• Assist with performance review and employee development processes.
• Help ensure HR policies and procedures are consistently followed.
• Support compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment requirements.
• Prepare HR reports, spreadsheets, and other administrative documents.
• Maintain confidentiality of employee and company information.
• Assist the HR team with special projects and other administrative duties as assigned.
