Job summary

Farris Wholesale is seeking an Human Resource Manager to lead HR functions, including hiring, payroll, benefits, and policy enforcement. You will partner with leadership to shape talent strategy, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive HR initiatives across the company.

The role reports to the Controller and requires a Bachelor's in HR/Business Admin with 3+ years of HR management experience; SHRM credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Business Administration - Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
  • Minimum of three years HR management experience preferred
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Partner with leadership to execute HR and talent strategy including recruiting, retention, and succession planning
  • Provide guidance to management on complex issues; handle accommodations, investigations, and terminations
  • Manage talent acquisition processes and collaborate with managers to define required skills
  • Analyze compensation trends and propose competitive base and incentive pay programs
  • Create learning and development initiatives for internal growth
  • Oversee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies
  • Approve timecards and perform payroll-related tasks
  • Stay informed on HR trends, regulatory changes, and HR technologies
  • Ensure OSHA and safety compliance

Job Overview

We are looking for a Human Resource Manager that will lead and direct the routine functions of Human Resources (HR) for the company; including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices while monitoring compliance.

Requirements
  • Bachelor of Business Administration - Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required

Responsibilities
  • Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization's human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning
  • Provides support and guidance to management and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodation, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations
  • Manages the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
  • Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent
  • Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees
  • Oversee employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
  • Confirm employee timecards and perform routine payroll processes
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
  • Maintains compliance with OSHA along with any other federal, state, or local laws and regulations related to health and safety.
  • Champions the company’s core values while carrying out HR responsibilities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Controller or Executive Team
