A Brief Overview

Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources, the Benefits Manager plays a critical role within the organization, managing administrative tasks related to employee benefits programs, 401k retirement plan, and supporting the design and implementation of new programs. This role will work closely with Human Resources leadership, benefits brokers, and vendors to ensure the company remains compliant with applicable laws and regulations.

What you will do
  • Administers employee benefit programs, such as health insurance, and wellness initiatives, as well as ancillary programs such as short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, and voluntary benefits, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal regulations
  • Administers the employer sponsored 401k retirement plan. Including but not limited to employee eligibility, plan review, company match, and working with Fidelity and third party plan administrator.
  • Oversees the administration of leaves of absence, ensuring adherence to applicable policies and legal requirements at the State and Federal levels.
  • Assists in the design and implementation of benefit programs.
  • Collaborates with insurance brokers, carriers, and other vendors to address any service or claims issues.
  • Manages the open enrollment process, including preparing and conducting employee communications, presentations, and training sessions.
  • Provides comprehensive support and assistance to employees regarding benefit plans, claims, and eligibility inquiries.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions to ensure all benefit programs remain compliant.
  • Manages a team of benefits support staff.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's Degree Human Resources, Business, or related field.
  • 4-6 years progressive experience working in a benefits role; preferably in a supervisory capacity.
  • 4-6 years With benefits plan design and administration of self-insured and fully insured plan designs. Preferred
  • 4-6 years 401k retirement administration
  • 4-6 years proven success in a multi-benefit program environment including welfare and health.
  • 4-6 years with HRIS and benefits administration software.
  • Benefit Plan Design. (Advanced proficiency)
  • HRIS Benefit Module Oversight. (Foundational proficiency)
  • Strong knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, such as ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, and ADA.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Exceptional communication and people skills, capable of effectively presenting complex benefit information to employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong customer focus.

  • Certified Benefits Professional (CPB)-World At Work Preferred Upon Hire
