Job summary

Swoon is seeking an experienced Director of Field Operations in Houston to lead and scale field operations for FTTH, SMB, and MDU services. You will drive end‑to‑end field service, oversee installation through activation, and manage outages while building scalable processes and high‑performing teams.

The role requires 10+ years in telecom with 5+ years in leadership, strong FTTH and OSP knowledge, and a focus on efficiency, customer experience, and safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years in telecom/broadband/service delivery and 5+ years in leadership.
• Experience with FTTH installation, OSP maintenance, fiber splicing, testing, outage restoration.
• Experience leading geographically dispersed teams and third‑party contractors.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi‑market field operations including installation, repair, dispatch, and OSP maintenance.
• Oversee order‑to activation, improve installation quality and first‑time‑right performance.
• Manage network maintenance, troubleshooting, emergency restoration, and outage response.
• Coach managers and establish consistent processes, training, and safety standards.
• Manage budgets, vendor contracts, and performance metrics to boost productivity and control costs.
• Partner with Construction, Engineering, Customer Care, and NOC to ensure readiness and reliable service.
