Job summary

Jericho Project in New York City is seeking an experienced Program Director for the JAMS at Melrose Supportive Housing program. The director will oversee daily operations, ensure quality case management, and supervise staff to support formerly homeless individuals and families.

Location Melrose, Bronx; reports to Deputy Chief; exempt status; compensation $85,000 to $90,000 annually. This role requires strong leadership, budget oversight, and collaboration with community partners to expand

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a child-focused field (psychology, social work, etc.).
  • At least two years' experience with individuals with serious mental illness.
  • At least two years' experience with children with development needs.
  • Experience working with homeless populations.
  • Supervisory/management experience preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and delegate tasks.
  • Familiarity with Harm Reduction, Housing First, Motivational Interviewing preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer literacy.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall QA management for the program and oversee data quality.
  • Review and audit case records for documentation, data standards, and eligibility.
  • Manage the site budget within contractual guidelines.
  • Supervise staff and ensure timely timesheets.
  • Oversee recruitment, training, and orientation of new employees.
  • Conduct intake interviews and pre-screening for applicants.
  • Coordinate with HRA to ensure eligibility requirements.
  • Develop community links and resource networks.
  • Provide crisis intervention as needed.
  • Attend trainings and program directors meetings.
