Job summary

Bertha's Place Shelter in Washington is seeking a Case Manager to help guests exit homelessness by linking them to permanent housing. The role focuses on housing assessments, individualized stability plans, and supportive casework within Catholic Community Services’ shelter program.

Responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing action plans, coordinating with community resources, and maintaining confidential case records.

Qualifications

• AA in a human or social services field or 2 years shelter generalist experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work with a diverse spectrum of high-need individuals.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.
• Background clearances required prior to offer.

Responsibilities

• Assess housing needs using Motivational Interviewing and a Progressive Engagement Approach.
• Develop and initiate housing stability plans with client-centered goals.
• Provide case management to assist clients in acquiring housing.
• Maintain accurate case management notes and prepare weekly reports.
• Attend weekly team meetings and other required meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
