Job summary

Making Opportunity Count Inc. is hiring a Shelter Case Manager in Shrewsbury, MA. You will provide comprehensive case management to families in shelter, using motivational interviewing and strength-based practices to craft individualized rehousing plans aimed at safe, stable, affordable housing.

The role may support Stabilization services as needed and requires collaboration with department staff to coordinate resources and services for participants.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in human services required.
• 1 year of case management experience focused on tenancy preps and tenancy sustainment.
• Must be empathetic to diverse populations.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
• Knowledge of community resources and benefits.

Responsibilities

• Establish monthly rehousing meetings with families.
• Provide notices of meetings per program rules.
• Review and address housing barriers (credit score, records, income).
• Collect vital and legal documents for participant files in a timely manner.
• Create housing budgets to assess affordability and sustainability.
• Document case management efforts in client files with timely updates.
