Job summary

Northern Virginia Family Services (NVFS) seeks a Case Management Supervisor for its Homeless Services SERVE Shelter team. You will oversee daily case management, supervise staff, and ensure high-quality services for homeless or housing-insecure individuals and families.

You will coordinate operations across homelessness prevention, rapid rehousing, housing counseling, and housing location services, and manage related funds. This is an on-site role with a starting salary of 65k.

Qualifications

• At least four (4) years of related work experience in case management, direct services, and/or housing or homelessness prevention programs.
• Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field strongly preferred.
• Experience working with individuals and families experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness.
• At least one (1) year of supervisory experience providing direct supervision of staff.
• Experience working with local CoC or collaborating with community housing and homelessness service providers is a plus.
• Ability to supervise, mentor, and support staff while fostering a collaborative team environment.
• Strong organizational, leadership, and time-management skills.
• Experience with program reporting, data management, grant tracking, and maintaining client records.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; English fluency required; Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, and support case management staff to ensure effective, high-quality client services and professional development.
• Coordinate staff assignments, monitor caseloads, and ensure appropriate staffing coverage.
• Collaborate with the Program Manager on staffing needs and training.
• Review case files for quality, completeness, and compliance with program standards.
• Coordinate daily operations for homelessness prevention, rapid rehousing, housing counseling, and housing location.
• Monitor services from referral through discharge, including eligibility determinations and financial assistance.
• Ensure services align with NVFS policies, procedures, contractual requirements, and best practices.
• Administer and track homelessness funds (ESG, VHSP, private funding).
• Collaborate with internal teams and community partners to improve service delivery.
• Participate in the CoC Service Committee and subcommittees to strengthen partnerships.
