Job summary

Vista Outreach in Vista, CA seeks a Housing Stabilizer to support individuals transitioning from homelessness into permanent housing, helping them achieve long-term stability and independence.

You will review documents, develop realistic budgets, coordinate with landlords and community resources, meet clients monthly, and maintain HMIS/Clarity records to track progress.

A bachelor\u2019s degree is preferred and lived experience is valued; a valid driver\u2019s license may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, or related field preferred.
• Experience in homelessness services, housing stabilization, case management, behavioral health, or related fields preferred.
• Lived experience is valued and may substitute for formal education.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet agency driving requirements.

Responsibilities

• Receive clients through a warm handoff from Outreach/Housing Navigation.
• Review handoff documents including budget, income/paystubs, bank statements, and housing information.
• Meet with clients at least monthly, with additional contact as needed.
• Obtain and review monthly bank statements and income documentation.
• Develop realistic budgets and plans for rent, utilities, and essential expenses.
• Coordinate with landlords and property managers to resolve tenancy concerns.
• Connect clients to community resources and supportive services.
• Maintain HMIS/Clarity documentation and program records.
• Track housing retention and client progress.
