Job summary

VOALA is seeking a Housing Specialist II to identify housing options for program participants and help families achieve sustainable independent living. You will lead assessment, service planning, engagement, and delivery in collaboration with the case management team.

You will work on-site, coordinate with landlords, build a housing database, conduct inspections, and connect clients to community resources to prevent eviction and secure permanent housing.

Qualifications

• Fingerprint clearance and background checks required.
• TB screening and immunization records must be current.
• Copy of professional license if applicable.
• Current BLS certification required (within 15 days of hire).
• Complete all required trainings within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to perform under emotional stress with challenging clients.

Responsibilities

• Identify and locate housing options suitable for homeless participants.
• Create and maintain a housing database linking tenants to apartments.
• Communicate with landlords and familiarize them with the program.
• Lead move-in activities, rental negotiations, and service referrals.
• Coordinate follow-up services with the Case Management team.
• Provide crisis intervention and assist with permanent housing placement.
