Job summary

VOALA seeks a Housing Specialist II to locate suitable housing for program participants and support sustainable, independent living. You will lead client-centered housing placement, assist with assessments, and coordinate services with case management to secure permanent housing.

On-site position requiring collaboration with landlords and community resources; must pass background checks and have a 2+ year housing/navigation experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social services or related discipline (or four years of experience).
• Must pass fingerprint clearance and background check.
• Two years of general case-management experience in housing navigation.

Responsibilities

• Identify housing options suitable for participants and refer to VOALA shelters when appropriate.
• Create and maintain a housing database linking tenants to apartments.
• Communicate with landlords to explain program needs and coordinate housing solutions.
• Lead move-in activities, negotiate rentals, and coordinate services for permanent housing.
• Coordinate with the case management team for follow-up and eligibility screenings.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Social Services or related discipline (or four years of experience)
