Job summary

The City of Tucson's Housing and Community Development Department seeks a Special Projects Coordinator to organize and deliver programs, engage with stakeholders, and support leadership in administering housing initiatives. The role emphasizes cross-department collaboration and data-driven program development.

Under the HCD Director's supervision, you will coordinate meetings, prepare materials, and manage program logistics while advancing equity and inclusive housing goals within the city.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required.
• Two years of relevant experience.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Advanced experience using Microsoft Office and other administrative systems (Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Excel, Teams, Canva)

Responsibilities

• Coordinate special projects and programs with timelines and across departments.
• Support affordable housing initiatives by researching issues, compiling information, and preparing materials.
• Assist leadership with scheduling, travel, records requests, and Council/Mayor materials.
• Coordinate meetings, hearings, and events; document discussions and follow up on actions.
• Support Equity Action Plan implementation and build partnerships with community stakeholders.
• Provide program support for Wellness, Employee Appreciation, and Core Training.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
