Job summary

The City of Tucson's Housing and Community Development Department is seeking a Special Projects Coordinator to support staff, deliver program services, and assist the department director with a range of housing initiatives.

You will coordinate projects, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and conduct research on housing trends to guide program recommendations aligned with city priorities. This role emphasizes equity, staff support, and effective operations.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; Master’s degree preferred for advanced planning roles.
• Experience with housing, community development, or homeless projects is a plus.
• Advanced experience using Microsoft Office and administrative systems (Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Excel, Teams, Canva) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate special projects and timelines across departments.
• Collaborate with City staff and external stakeholders to support housing initiatives.
• Research housing trends, policies, and data to identify needs and gaps.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and briefing materials for leadership and Mayor/Council meetings.
• Coordinate staff scheduling, meetings, travel, and public records requests; support wellness and training programs.
