Job summary

Family Service League in Bay Shore, NY is seeking a full-time Housing Services Supervisor for our Program Home Program. The role oversees staff, partners with the Program Director, and coordinates housing referrals, intakes, and budgets to help clients move into permanent housing.

You will supervise recruitment, training, conducting supervisions, and ensure compliance with documentation standards; strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills are essential; NYS driver’s license

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field preferred.
• At least 3 years of housing and homeless services experience required.
• Prior supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Suffolk County Department of Social Services is preferred.
• Strong organizational, leadership, and time-management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee staff, including recruiting, hiring, training, developing, and conducting supervisions and performance appraisals.
• Advocate for client needs.
• Arrange forums with outside entities to discuss housing stability topics.
• Assess problems, gather information, generate solutions, and make recommendations.
• Assist participants in moving into permanent housing and coordinate related logistics.
• Complete housing applications and ensure timely submissions to housing programs.
• Conduct comprehensive client intakes and assist staff as needed.
• Complete and review housing inspections; manage monthly budgets with clients.
• Monitor client records for compliance and accuracy across programs.
• Develop individualized housing plans and explore new housing resources.
• Document all client contacts and provide ongoing support to clients.
