Job summary

The City of Aurora is seeking a Homeless Outreach Worker to join the Housing and Community Services Department. You will build rapport with unhoused individuals, assess needs, and connect them to housing and supportive services in a trauma-informed, collaborative setting.

Responsibilities include case management, outreach to encampments, crisis intervention, safety planning, and coordinating with partners to facilitate housing placements. Valid Colorado driver’s license required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2–3 years of outreach experience with unhoused or vulnerable populations.
• Experience in mental health or substance use fields preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build rapport with unhoused neighbors and connect to services.
• Conduct housing-focused case management and assessments.
• Enter data in HMIS and coordinate with partners.
• Outreach to encampments and provide resources during abatements.
• Coordinate with abatement teams and safety planning.
