Job summary

City of Aurora seeks a Homeless Outreach Worker to build trust with unhoused residents, assess needs, and connect them to housing and services. You will work with police, health providers, and community partners to stabilize clients and reduce public safety risks.

The role requires data entry in HMIS, case planning, and crisis intervention. A valid Colorado driver’s license is required; the position is VHBE with up to 40 hours/week and benefits eligibility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; experience in homeless outreach or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build rapport with unhoused individuals and assess immediate needs.
• Coordinate with partners to link clients to housing and supportive services.
• Enter data into HMIS and other systems accurately and timely.
• Develop housing plans and monitor client progress toward goals.
• Respond to crises with de-escalation and crisis intervention as needed.
