Job summary

Isaiah House is seeking a Housing Navigator to support individuals and families experiencing homelessness or housing instability across Essex County. You’ll work directly with clients to identify housing options, complete housing applications, and coordinate placements with landlords.

This field-based role requires strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills, plus the ability to manage a caseload and navigate community resources.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience with homelessness or housing instability.
• Knowledge of Housing First and Coordinated Entry principles preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills.
• Ability to manage a caseload and work independently in the community.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work one-on-one with Isaiah House clients to identify and secure housing options.
• Conduct housing assessments and develop individualized housing plans.
• Assist clients with housing applications, documentation, and lease-up processes.
• Coordinate housing placements through the Essex County Coordinated Entry (CEAS) system.
• Build and maintain relationships with landlords, property managers, and housing providers.
• Support clients with move-ins and provide short-term follow-up to promote housing stability.
• Collaborate with case managers, re-entry staff, and program leadership.
• Maintain accurate client records and enter required data into HMIS as needed.
