Job summary

VOA-NCNN is recruiting a full-time Housing Specialist for the Singles Program at the Mather Community Campus. The role focuses on assisting residents in obtaining and maintaining housing, developing contracts for payments, and coordinating with landlords to secure stable housing options.

You will assess residents’ needs, support safety and program integrity, and work with Case Managers to help residents overcome barriers to securing long-term housing. CPR/First Aid certs required within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field preferred; two years of human services experience or equivalent
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of credit and legal responsibilities of renters and low-income housing resources
• Must pass background clearances and have driving license per agency requirements
• CPR/First Aid certification required within 90 days of employment

Responsibilities

• Assist residents in obtaining and maintaining housing
• Develop contracts with residents for payment of fees
• Coordinate with landlords to facilitate housing placement and problem-solve issues
• Prepare clients for housing search and maintain housing resources
• Visit clients to help manage leases and address financial changes
• Monitor payments and coordinate fee waivers or back-rent plans
• Prepare monthly performance reports and develop financial plans with clients
