Job summary

YWCA Northeastern NY (YWCA NENY) seeks a Housing Case Manager in Schenectady, NY to support women in the housing program. You will build trust, assess goals, connect residents with resources, and advocate for stability and independence for survivors of domestic violence and others facing barriers to housing.

Qualifications

• Combination of education and experience required: 5+ years in housing services, case management, social services, or related field; or 10+ years with HS diploma/GED.
• Strong ability to manage records, intent, and data related to homeless services.
• Commitment to dignity, inclusion, equity, and mission-driven work.

Responsibilities

• Provide case management and support: build trusted relationships, offer housing information, referrals, guidance, advocacy, and goal navigation.
• Support housing access and intakes: conduct intakes, manage waitlists, assist with Coordinated Entry System intakes.
• Connect residents to local resources, tenant rights, and housing programs.
• Maintain accurate records: case notes, resident files, daily tracking, and reports.
• Promote a safe, supportive community: collaborate with Housing Director, staff, and maintenance; assist with room turnover.
• Facilitate monthly group activities to foster resident connection and well-being.
• Assist residents with appointments and transportation using agency van when needed.
• Attend meetings and trainings; contribute to program effectiveness.
• Support program operations with front desk coverage and other duties.
