Job summary

BOWERY RESIDENTS' COMMITTEE, INC. in Brooklyn is seeking a Housing Specialist for the Tillary Street Women's Residence. The role involves assisting clients with housing applications, preparing for interviews, and coordinating housing appointments, while providing case management for a caseload.

You will generate weekly internal reports, ensure entitlement coordination, and assist with emergency CPR/first aid as needed. Full-time with a daytime schedule.

Qualifications

• Experience with processing housing applications such as NYCHA, Section 8, and NY/NY.
• Experience with homelessness, addictions, mental illness, entitlements and housing.
• Strong writing, communication and group facilitation skills.
• Computer proficiency required.
• BA/BS preferred; some college/work experience may substitute for degree.
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred; CPR training or willingness to take CPR.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients in securing entitlements and arranging housing appointments.
• Coordinate entitlement for clients and provide case management for caseload.
• Generate weekly internal reports and funder reports.
• Provide emergency first aid/CPR assistance when needed.
• Related duties as assigned.
