The Bowery Residents' Committee, Inc. seeks a Housing Services Assistant in Manhattan, NY to support clients with housing applications and benefits.

You will submit, compile, and distribute housing packages, escort clients to interviews, and liaise with housing providers to secure permanent housing options. Responsibilities include data entry, tracking statistics, coordinating moves with DHS and landlords, and conducting outreach to engage clients.

Formación

• BA/BS preferred; experience with housing applications (NYCHA, Section 8, NY/NY 2010e, CITY FHEPS, SEPS, HUD-VASH).
• Minimum 2 years working with clients on homelessness, addictions, mental illness, entitlements and housing.
• Demonstrable writing and communication skills; computer proficiency required.
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred; valid driver's license preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Submit and distribute housing packages, City FHEPS shopping letters and other subsidy/vouchers.
• Escort clients to medical, housing interviews and other housing-related appointments.
• Liaise with program and housing providers; track data in databases.
• Assist coordination of moves with DHS, landlords, and transit/case managers.
• Provide outreach to engage clients and identify permanent housing options.
