Overview

The Housekeeping Supervisor oversees housekeeping functions in assigned sections and assumes all Housekeeping Manager responsibilities in their absence.

Responsibilities
  1. Inspect Room Attendant’s work performance daily to ensure standards and productivity are maintained.
  2. In the absence of the Housekeeping Manager or Assistant, inspect VIP rooms and report their status to the Front Office.
  3. Oversee the closing of floors, ensuring carts are clean and stocked.
  4. Complete and submit daily assignment records on time.
  5. Maintain key control and handle Lost and Found items according to standards.
  6. Monitor cleanliness of carts, linen closets, and other areas.
  7. Assign daily duties to staff and ensure proper coverage.
  8. Use a pager/radio to stay in contact with Front Office and Engineering.
  9. Report progress on out-of-order rooms to Guest Services Manager.
  10. Initiate and follow up on repairs and maintenance work orders.
  11. Assist in training housekeeping staff.
  12. May need to clean rooms as needed.
  13. Ensure biannual cleaning projects are completed.
  14. Strive for overall guest satisfaction.
Qualifications
  1. High School diploma or equivalent; college coursework helpful.
  2. 2-3 years of progressive hotel or related experience preferred.
  3. Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  4. Ability to stand during entire shift.
  5. Effective verbal and written communication skills; friendly, courteous, service-oriented demeanor.
