Job summary

UnityPoint Health – Meriter is seeking a Housekeeper to maintain a clean and safe hospital environment. You will perform cleaning, stocking, waste removal, floor care, and cubicle exchanges to ensure a pleasant, sanitary space for patients and staff.

The role requires basic English literacy and arithmetic skills and prior healthcare cleaning experience is preferred. We value reliability, teamwork, and a patient‑centered approach in our facility.

Qualifications

• Must read and write English and interpret measuring and hazard instructions on labels.
• Must be able to do basic arithmetic.
• Preferred: High School Education or GED.
• One-year cleaning in healthcare.
• Good Customer service.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize patient rooms and common areas.
• Move, stock, and organize supplies as needed.
• Remove waste and recycling in accordance with safety guidelines.
• Perform floor care and exchange cubicles as required.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing environment.

The Housekeeper position is responsible for a variety of duties such as; cleaning, moving, stocking, waste and recycling removal, floorcare, and exchanging cubicles. The housekeeper must have the ability to perform a wide variety of duties to maintain an environment that is aesthetically pleasing while maintaining maximum bacteriological control. Housekeepers must have the physical and mental ability to perform tasks related to the position.
