Job summary

Great River Health Systems is seeking a House Supervisor (RN) to coordinate and direct activities across nursing units during off-hours. You will lead in the absence of Nursing Director and Administration, uphold hospital mission, and ensure high-quality nursing services to diverse patients and staff.

The role requires active leadership, collaboration, and strong clinical decision-making. A BSN is preferred, and ACLS/BLS/PALS/TNCC certifications within designated timeframes are required.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
• BSN or related field preferred.
• 4-6 years nursing experience preferred.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• ACLS within 180 days required.
• BLS Healthcare Provider within 180 days required.
• PALS within 180 days required.
• TNCC within 1 year preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with health care professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
• Communicate nursing service philosophies, goals, and procedures.
• Direct or supervise nursing care staff in patient care.
• Gather and analyze information to make staffing decisions within budget.
• Meet with Physicians to discuss care concerns and resolve conflicts.
• Regularly round on nursing units to monitor activity and support staff.
• Act as bed placement officer in absence of a dedicated role.
• Serve as Incident Commander at the start of emergency plans.
• Maintain infection control standards and departmental policies.
• Observe and assess patients to identify customer service needs.
