Job summary

Blessing Health System seeks a House Supervisor to coordinate personnel and resources for patient care across all venues, providing crisis management in collaboration with Nursing Leadership on a 24-hour basis.

The role requires RN licensure with a BSN, 3+ years nursing experience, and at least 1 year of progressive nurse leadership. ACLS within 6 months and BLS maintained are required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily personnel, equipment, and technology to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.

• Recruit, orient, and retain centralized nursing staff; ensure adherence to standards and policies.
• Maintain infection control practices and the ANA Code of Ethics; enforce I CARE standards.

JOB SUMMARY

The House Supervisor coordinates and organizes personnel and other resources to meet the patient care functions of the organization in a cost-effective manner. Collaborates to provide crisis management, interpret policy and procedure, and assure timely and effective communication and collaboration between individuals and departments. The House Supervisor represents the organizational leadership across all venues on a 24 hour basis and collaborates to make decisions and acts on behalf of the Nursing Leadership team.

JOB TASKS and RESPONSIBILITIES

Assures the daily personnel, equipment, and technology resources necessary for the provision of safe, high quality patient and family care.

Responsible to provide resources for clinical and support staff in decision making that facilitates safe, high quality patient care.

Coordinates the response to significant, planned or unplanned events that threaten the institution's people, structures, ability to operate, assets and/or reputation.

Role models effective two-way communication and problem solving at the organizational level

Recruitment, selection, orientation, and retention of centralized staffing nursing staff

Ensure nursing staff compliance with the following;

Adherence to nursing standards of practice

Regulatory standards

ANA Code of Ethics

Organizational and unit policies

Mandatory education

Infection control practice

Scheduling processes and procedures

I CARE standards of behavior

Maintenance of a healthy work environment utilizing the principles of just culture which neither holds the nurse accountable for system failures nor tolerates reckless behavior

Performs patient and employee rounding

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Training/Experience:

REQUIRED:

Graduate of an RN School of Nursing

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Minimum 3 years related nursing experience

Minimum 1 year progressive nurse leadership experience

License/Certifications/Special Requirements:

Possesses current state RN license.

Maintain current BLS

National Nursing Leadership Certification (when eligible)

ACLS (within 6 months of hire)
