Job summary

HRI Hospitality is seeking a Security Officer for our downtown New Orleans hotel. You will patrol guest floors, monitor cameras, respond to incidents, assist guests, and enforce policies with hospitality.

You will also generate detailed reports and coordinate with local responders as needed. Education required: college degree or high school diploma with related experience; must stand and move for extended periods and stay composed under pressure.

Qualifications

• Must be able to observe and assess situations quickly and accurately.
• Must remain calm and decisive in high-stress environments.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with guests and team members.
• Basic understanding of security systems, access control, and emergency procedures.
• Discretion and ability to handle confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Patrol all hotel areas including guest floors, public spaces, back-of-house areas, and parking lots.
• Monitor security systems, cameras, alarms, and access points; respond to incidents and document actions.
• Assist guests and employees with safety concerns or escorts as needed.
• Enforce hotel policies with professionalism and hospitality.
• Complete incident and shift reports; coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency responders when required.
• Conduct routine safety inspections (fire extinguishers, doors, lighting).
• Support loss prevention efforts and investigate suspicious activity.
• Participate in safety drills and ongoing training; provide first aid/CPR if certified.
