Job summary

Hotel Equities is seeking an Assistant General Manager for the Postcard Cabins Starved Rock in Ottawa, IL. The candidate will oversee hotel operations, direct front desk, housekeeping, reservations, and guest services while driving profitability and adherence to brand standards.

The role requires 2+ years of supervisory hotel experience, familiarity with major brands, and strong financial acumen. A strong emphasis on team coaching and safety programs is important for success.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of supervisory hotel operations.
• Experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham, or Hyatt.
• Knowledgeable in financial statements and budgeting.
• Proven ability to deliver exceptional guest service results.
• Able to develop and implement policies, procedures and systems to improve business operations.
• Ability to embrace property safety programs including training, reporting and incentives.

Responsibilities

• Directing and coordinating the activities of the front desk, housekeeping, reservations, guest service, security, and maintenance.
• Maximizing ADR and Occupancy.
• Coordinating communications between Sales and Operating departments.
• Motivating, coaching, and training department supervisors.
• Understanding financial statements and budget, including staffing guidelines.
• Controlling department head schedule, expenses, and implementing cost-saving strategies.
• Guiding, developing, and implementing policies, procedures, and systems to improve business operations.
• Managing all aspects of the safety program, including training, reporting, and incentives.
• Maintaining a cooperative and positive work environment.
