Job summary

Newport Hospitality Group is seeking an Assistant General Manager to lead hotel operations in partnership with the General Manager. You will coach front desk to housekeeping teams, drive guest satisfaction, and ensure brand standards are met day-to-day.

You will oversee staffing, scheduling, and labor costs while supporting recruiting, training, and development of team members. You’ll review performance metrics and work to maintain a safe, welcoming property.

Qualifications

• Experience in hotel leadership and front-line team coaching.
• Strong ability to manage operations, guest relations, and staff development.

Responsibilities

• Lead hotel day-to-day operations alongside the General Manager.
• Coach and support associates and department leaders to maintain high standards.
• Drive guest satisfaction and respond to guest concerns and feedback.
• Oversee front office, housekeeping, and other hotel operations with department heads.
• Assist with staffing, scheduling, labor costs, and performance metrics.
• Support recruiting, onboarding, training, and recognition of team members.
• Review operating reports, guest feedback, and financial performance with the GM.
• Collaborate with Sales and Revenue Management on occupancy and rate strategy.
• Maintain a clean, safe, welcoming property and ensure policy compliance.
• Act as a leader in the GM's absence and own challenges to resolution.
