Job summary

SpringHill Suites / Residence Inn / New York Queens is seeking an Assistant General Manager with Food and Beverage experience to assist the General Manager and Department Managers in directing hotel operations and maintaining brand excellence across guest and employee metrics.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated with major brand and New York City experience and a positive, solution-based mindset. This role requires flexible scheduling including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of previous experience as a hotel Department Manager in a hotel with 200+ rooms required.
• Experience managing schedules, budgets, payroll, inventories, and coaching team members.
• F&B experience advantageous; NYC and major-brand experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure departments achieve or exceed guest service scores.
• Assist in preparing team member schedules within budgets.
• Inspect rooms regularly to maintain quality standards.
• Train operations in financial controls (cash, payables, inventories, receivables).
• Respond to guest reviews and inquiries across channels.
• Manage HR functions: recruiting, onboarding, evaluations, training, disciplinary actions.
• Collaborate with other departments for smooth operations.
• Lead daily Stand-Up meetings and report on guest scores and metrics.
• Develop and monitor department budgets and forecasts.
• Oversee vendor and personnel contracts and annual revenue budgets.
