Job summary

Extended Stay America is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Fort Lauderdale to ensure all property equipment operates correctly and guest rooms remain in good repair. You will follow the Green Shield Binder and management directions to complete tasks promptly and safely.

You will perform preventive maintenance, respond to guest needs, manage tools, and support safety and security policies across the hotel setting.

Qualifications

• Reads and speaks English proficiently and interacts with guests, associates and outside vendors.
• Understands safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedures and guidelines.
• Writes routine reports and correspondence.
• Performs basic arithmetic in all units of measure.
• Uses measurement units for weight, volume and distance.
• Exercises good judgment in all situations.
• Assists with resolving guest issues per company policy.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates commitment to guest and associate experience.
• Works with minimal supervision to complete essential duties.
• Responds to guest requests with follow-through per procedures.
• Performs out-of-room cleaning to maintain pristine premises.
• Performs repairs listed on work orders in a timely, professional manner.
• Completes preventative maintenance inspections and repairs.
• Maintains records as outlined in the Green Shield Binder.
• Keeps maintenance areas clean and organized; manages tools inventory.
• Maintains various hotel rooms and equipment per safety standards.
• Assists with emergencies at the property or other sites when directed.
