Job summary

McKibbon Hospitality seeks a Chief Engineer to lead and perform maintenance across the hotel’s facilities, ensuring safety and guest satisfaction. The role requires coordinating with leadership, supervising maintenance staff, and managing the operations budget.

Ideal candidates have hotel maintenance experience, strong people skills, and the ability to train others while upholding McKibbon’s Guiding Principles.

Qualifications

• 3 years minimum experience in a lead maintenance role.
• Previous hotel experience is highly desired.
• Ability to monitor the performance of service/contractors.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance methods and NFPA-72 fire & life safety.
• Ability to train others and conduct on-the-job training.
• Strong listening and interpersonal skills with guests and associates.

Responsibilities

• Perform and lead repair and maintenance of the hotel's physical plant.
• Maintain interior and exterior areas of the property.
• Coach and train maintenance staff to follow standards.
• Monitor service/contractor performance and budgets.
• Schedule maintenance to minimize guest disruption.
• Assist leadership with recruiting and hiring of maintenance team members.
• Ensure safety and protect assets per McKibbon guidelines.
