Job summary

McKibbon Hospitality is seeking an Assistant Maintenance Engineer to ensure proper operation of the hotel’s plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and pool systems. You will support the General Manager and Chief Engineer, delivering high-quality work with minimal guest disruption.

You bring experience in construction trades including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, basic heating and air conditioning, pool maintenance, painting, and caulking.

Qualifications

• 3 years minimum experience in a maintenance-type position, preferably in a hotel or apartment environment.
• Ability to communicate operational activities with management engineers and supervisors.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance methods and techniques for maintaining equipment.
• Ability to repair and replace basic heating and air conditioning systems.
• Perform basic painting and caulking skills.
• Knowledge of testing pool and spa chemicals.
• Ability to use standard hand tools and measure electrical systems.
• Willingness to be point of contact for maintenance concerns in absence of Chief Maintenance Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Maintain operations across plumbing, electrical, HVAC and pool systems.
• Assist with general facility upkeep to minimize guest disruption.
• Follow safety protocols when using tools and equipment and keep areas tidy.
• Train others in engineering skills and trades as needed.
• Be the point of contact for maintenance in the absence of the Chief Maintenance Engineer.
• Interact with staff and guests using strong communication skills.
