Job summary

Island Hospitality Management, LLC. is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Springfield, VA to inspect, repair, and maintain hotel systems, equipment, facilities, and common areas. You will perform routine PM inspections, general cleaning, and proactive maintenance to keep properties safe and operational.

The role requires attention to detail, ability to work independently or in a team, and readiness to respond to maintenance needs with urgency while following health and safety guidelines.

• Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary
• Ability to work well in stressful situations
• Ability to complete work orders on a timely basis
• Readily available and approachable for all guests while providing excellent guest service
• Ability and willingness to respond to emergency situations on short notice
• Responsible for knowing Hotel emergency procedures

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning and preventative maintenance throughout the hotel, including mechanical and engineering areas.
• Complete scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) inspections and tasks.
• Identify maintenance concerns during inspections and proactively address or report issues
• Recognize, report, and correct potential safety hazards and notify supervisors of damages or deficiencies
• Complete basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpet, tile, flooring maintenance and repairs
• Maintain and repair pool and fitness center equipment as needed
• Check stocking levels of maintenance supplies and report shortages
• Respond to maintenance requests from hotel departments and escalate when needed
• Prepare and maintain maintenance logs, reports, and shift documentation
• Assist with exterior property maintenance during inclement weather
