Job summary

TownePlace Suites Joplin is seeking an on-site Maintenance Technician to perform routine upkeep of guest rooms and public areas. You will handle painting, plumbing, electrical tasks, and equipment maintenance in a hotel setting.

Ideal candidates have vocational training in plumbing or electrical repair and 2+ years of general maintenance experience, with HVAC/pool knowledge preferred. This role requires a valid driver’s license and the ability to respond to emergencies after hours.

Qualifications

• Pre-employment drug screening required.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Certificate from a vocational institution with completed apprenticeship in plumbing or electrical repair.
• HVAC training and pool/spa experience preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of general maintenance experience plus 3 years in plumbing, electrical, or painting trades.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical, and related maintenance activities.
• Notify management of major repairs or additions needed for lighting, heating, or ventilation systems.
• Tend furnace, air-conditioning, and boiler equipment; replace AC filters.
• Respond promptly to guest service requests in line with company policy.
• Maintain appearance of the hotel interior and exterior, including painting, staining, and repairs.
• Repair wallpaper, carpet, sheetrock, doors, and other finishes.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and parts, ensuring proper par levels.
• Keep accurate records of work completed.
• Learn and follow emergency, safety, and lockout/tag-out procedures.
