Job summary

Highgate Hotels in Honolulu is seeking a property Engineer to keep the Kalia Theatre in top condition with minimal disruption for guests and staff.

You will perform preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, boilers, electrical, water, and plumbing components; read blueprints and wiring diagrams; document maintenance work; and ensure compliance with local codes and safety standards. Strong guest-service mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; hotel or related field experience preferred.
• At least one year of progressive hotel maintenance experience preferred.
• Flexible with long hours; able to perform heavy physical work.
• Able to read blueprints and wiring diagrams.
• Strong communication and guest-service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Make repairs to property HVAC systems and electrical components.
• Perform preventive maintenance on boilers, chillers, and electrical systems.
• Take required readings on equipment and test cooling towers.
• Repair plumbing systems, pumps, and fixtures as needed.
• Maintain repair and maintenance records and comply with codes.
