Job summary

Highgate Hotels in Honolulu is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to oversee housekeeping operations in the Kalia Theatre. You will inspect staff performance, monitor VIP room availability, and manage daily floor closures while ensuring records are accurate and up to date.

Qualifications include a High School diploma or equivalent, 2–3 years in a hotel setting, and strong communication skills. The role may require you to train staff and occasionally clean rooms to meet business needs.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; college coursework helpful.
• 2–3 years of progressive hotel experience preferred.
• Previous supervisory responsibility preferred.
• Ability to stand for the entire shift.
• Effective verbal and written communication with all staff and guests.

Responsibilities

• Inspect Facilities Attendant’s work performance daily to ensure standards and productivity.
• Inspect VIP rooms and report availability to the Front Office.
• Oversee end-of-day floor closures and restock carts.
• Ensure daily assignment records are completed and filed.
• Maintain key control.
• Handle Lost and Found items per standards.
• Monitor cleanliness and order of carts, linen closets, closets, stairways and landings.
• Oversee daily assignment of duties and ensure staff have work assignments.
• Carry pager/radio to stay in contact with Front Office/Engineering.
• Initiate and track work orders for repairs and maintenance.
• Assist with training Housekeeping staff.
• May be required to clean rooms as needed.
• Complete biannual cleaning projects.
• Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
