Job summary

Highgate Hotels in Providence, RI is seeking a General Maintenance Engineer to ensure the property is kept in optimal condition with minimal guest disruption. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot HVAC and mechanical systems, and maintain records in a fast-paced hotel environment.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and experience in a hotel or related field.
• Trade school or college coursework in related field is helpful.
• Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Make repairs to hotel air conditioning system: change filters, clean coils, replace motors.
• Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment (boilers, chillers, HVAC, electrical).
• Take required readings on equipment and test cooling tower.
• Replace and program televisions and control systems as needed.
• Repair and maintain plumbing, electrical, and mechanical components.
• Read blueprints and wiring diagrams to guide maintenance work.
• Maintain repair and preventive maintenance records and follow codes.
