Job summary

Sonesta International Hotels is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to support the upkeep of our hotels, ensuring safe, well‑maintained properties and high guest satisfaction across guest rooms, public spaces, and back‑of‑house areas.

You’ll perform preventative maintenance, repairs, painting, plumbing, and engineering tasks, troubleshoot equipment, and work closely with Housekeeping and Front Office to keep operations running smoothly.

Qualifications

• General maintenance and engineering experience in hotel or facilities.
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, painting, carpentry.
• Ability to troubleshoot and perform routine repairs safely.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repair across guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas.
• Support preventative maintenance for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, painting, carpentry.
• Respond quickly and professionally to guest maintenance requests.
• Paint, patch, touch‑up, minor plumbing repairs, and routine engineering tasks.
• Assist with troubleshooting and repairing hotel equipment and systems.
• Maintain clean and organized maintenance shops and storage areas.
• Monitor building systems and report safety hazards promptly.
• Follow OSHA and safety procedures at all times.
• Support renovation projects and facility improvements.
• Collaborate with Housekeeping, Front Office, F&B teams for smooth operations.
• Maintain maintenance logs and work orders.
